    Hello!

I've learned touch typing about a year ago with a Dvorak layout.
Inspired by the Space Cadet Keyboard I've also mapped "Caps Lock"
    to "Backspace".

Now I'm considering Colemak.  It seems to address some issues I
    have with Dvorak.

Here a question and some comments:

    - How much the additional backspace binding accounts for the
lower average finger distance in the Colemak layout?  How does
Colemak compare (regarding average finger distance) to a Dvorak
layout *with* the additional backspace binding?

    - It would be nice to have a comparison table like the one you
      did for the Asetion layout.

    - It would be interesting to learn how you developed the Asetion
      and Colemak layouts!

Thanks for your time and for developing these layouts!

The Backspace does change things a lot. If the Backspace isn't included:
    * Dvorak has 12.3% higher distance than Colemak
    * The home row in Colemak is used 4.7% more than Dvorak.
    The other statistics don't change.

I'll probably do it when I'll have more time. It's not a priority for me at the moment.

Please do... even though it wouldn't take more than 5 minutes of your precious time. ;)

In Shai's defense, he spent a long time designing Colemak. There would be a lot of information to provide.

Not in Shai's defense, he's been saying he doesn't have time to do it for a good year, at least.

Shai, how long do you think it would take to write up an explanation of the development of Colemak?

What has happened to Shai? I have a niggling feeling that he has designed a new layout in a non-Latin language and now spends all his spare time over there. I hope I'm wrong...
