Also put up a blog post on Colemak tips and curated list of all the resources I found to improve typing: http://blog.abhixec.com/post/colemaktips/ :) Let me know your thoughts
]]>Yeah! I feel like I am pretty much doing what you described... but just sometimes when my fingers start to type the wrong keys I kind of step back and question why I am regressing and reach out to the community to see if I can do anything better to make my experience better....
Good to know that I thinking in the right direction
Yeah, I know your pain, what I've found to be the biggest problem with error correction is that it comes with so much thinking added to it, how much do I need to delete, where do I have to continue on the word, and so on. From what I've heard from better typists than me it's mostly better to just ctrl+backspace the whole word and start writing it again, since that leads you to have to think less, and then regain more than what you lose from having to retype the whole thing, it takes a lot of thinking out of the process, I have just never managed to get into that habit.
]]>I don't really have one either, I think the important thing is to find a good rhythm, and then try to stick to that as much as possible, and only burst when it really is needed. Basically what I try to do for myself is to at least try to keep up with kind of a steady rhythm of typing instead of being all over the place, so mostly I burst through words that I know, and when I come to words that I can't burst I try to keep it coming as steady as possible, if that makes any sense at all.

What's happening to me at least is that as I start to get better at writing with the layout, my focus on accuracy seem to wane, So that is something that need special focus, just focus on accuracy more than speed, while you write, focus on getting the words right rather than raw speed, funnily enough it seems to work out for me at least to a better overall speed since I don't have to correct. It's hard work though, focusing on not getting things wrong.
I am trying to improve my accuracy because I can clearly see that most of my speed impact is because I hit the wrong key strokes.
But I guess my most concerning thing is that the way I type... I can't seem to find a consistent typing action/typing style....
Unfortunately it is a one off thing, I am still focusing on accuracy. But as long I focus on accuracy the speed increases.
As long as you're focusing on accuracy it won't be a one off for that long, I think you are going about it in the right way, but what can I say, I'm still lying in the mid sixties :p
]]>Now that is an achievement. I wish I could hit that right now, but as with anything, this is a process. Nice work!
Do you find that, at high speed, you're kind of surprised when a word comes out perfectly with so little motion? Some phrases I can hit at my old QWERTY speed, and it feels like I'm only typing half of each word, if that!
Yeah I have that from time to time when I gain some momentum with speed
Grats! This is more than I've managed. Kudos!
Thanks!

I'm not sure if that will ever cease, we'll be always working on accuracy.
That is soo true. I guess I would be happy to hit that speed with that accuracy more consistently, rather than that be a one off thing.
