An upgrade version for the free program just was released TypeTrainer4Mac
and the author has a beta test version of a future shareware version somewhat inelegantly called
aTypeTrainer4Mac that you can use freely right now. A main advantage I see is an added option that it lets you train now on practicing using the Capslock key as the backspace key for correction on the fly.

registration is free during the beta testing and removes the 20 second break every 3 minutes (I am not sure a break every 3 min. of practice is not altogether a bad thing)

Dear user
aTypeTrainer4Mac is actually in it's beta-testing stage. It means, that you can receive a KEY file for free sending your personal data (full name and full address) to developer. However, processing your request may take indefinite time.
The support of layouts doesn't mention Colemak even though it works quite well with Colemak including correcty showing the key position to press (except for the backspace key- it does not show
the backspace in the caps lock position- that does not affect function). It would those using it for Colemak would email them that they are doing that - typetrainer4mac@mac.com
Still the easiest way to start training on OS X. Would be nice to get him to mention Colemak alternative layout in his marketing.
