aye carumba..
Its interesting how, as I think someone else pointed out, when tired your colemak can really fall apart in a way that qwerty didn't
maybe indicates it takes up a bit more brain juice because its all still relatively new
I wonder how long it takes for it to become so embedded you don't get this effect, i.e. it becomes as ingrained as qwerty was
clearly getting fast when fresh with colemak is a different thing to not falling apart when tired and they take different amounts of time, the 2nd potentially far longer?
After a year or so I felt that Colemak was easier than QWERTY when I was tired, iirc. So it probably takes a while, but you do get there.

That kind of embedded feeling happened to me after a year with Colemak. You truly don't know which key is which, but your fingers know better.

Its now a year since my touch-typing adventure began
thanks to all here who have helped out..
had no idea then that I would end up here now with all the keys in the wrong places typing faster and more accurately than I ever have before
(or the right places depending on your point of view)
just became a 'typemaster' on typeracer.. next stop megaracer..
just posted a 65wpm on typeracer
that coupled with a last ten mean of 56 means I have now officially exceeded my previous qwerty capability on both metrics (63 and 53)
thats a result.. colemak is taking on all new levels of comfort for me now!
It's great to hear that you now have that kind of comfortable, luxurious typing feel that all of us Colemakers share and enjoy.
It takes a year, but now it's continuing to feel better and better.

69wpm typeracer today..
I am a year old touch typer as of the start of this month
But only a 6 month old colemaker
Looking forward to hitting a year with colemak - aiming for a silky smooth typing experience by then
I think I would much rather type error free than lightning quick - but most likely the two are not really mutually exclusive
indulge and perhaps are troubling me today.. cannot get them right
The 'lg' digraph is not common in English. There aren't many 'rh's out there either. That's probably why they are tripping you up. Both words don't feel great for me either (I'm on Dvorak).

well, that one was a bitch
Thank you, pinkyache, for the wonderful images of superhuman sisterhoods underhandedly spearheading rhombic rheumatic rhythms, while vulgar algebraic pilgrims amalgamate bilge algae eelgrass and at the same time gather wool! :)

ouch 'program' is a real finger twister..
try 'parasites' ;D
creeping toward 70
as I'm approaching the 70wpm mark I find that a lot of my problems are due to my fingers thinking they have to move further than they need to to hit a key, skipping up or down a row from the correct key is common. Its almost like I have to remind them that they don't have to do as much work with colemak than qwerty and that they can relax a bit and not worry about spending most of their time on the home row..
heh, i don't have a problem with hitting the wrong row, but i eventually stopped using Qwerty because of my fingers jumping up and down the three rows. it felt erratic
You guys can talk to your fingers? Mine have their own wills and refuse to budge.
