    Is "dc" unergonomic?

I don't really know where to start looking for this, so I thought I'd just ask.

I am trying to decide between two layouts; my only concern about one of them is its common use of [QWERTY] dc (pressed with middle then index finger).  It feels strange, and I'm not sure if I'm just not used to it or if it's unergonomic.

(If it matters, the two layouts are 4 and 5 from here.)

You mean the SC bigram, right? ;)

It's quite unergonomic. From the upper to the middle row it's more of a slide (if your keyboard supports sliding well), but to the lower row you have to curl your finger and that shouldn't happen too often as it'll lead to cramping and fatigue.

I don't think it's a problem at all. With most keyboards, the B key in the bottom row sits exactly halfway between T and N (on Colemak), I suppose. So it's fairly comfortable to type 's' with the middle finger and 'c' with the index. After all it's 'em' mirrored.

SC is super easy if you are using default colemak on the usuall staggered colemak and as the easiest bigraph that uses left middle -> left index.
