You could use my xkb files, which don't put Caps Lock as backspace (they let you map it to an Extend modifier, but that's separate from layouts). Or, just go into usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols as admin and change the backspace thing in your layout file (if you're from the US that'll be the us file). It's silly to mix the layout itself and the capslock behavior; these should be separate things.
