    I have tried EVERYTHING!!  GRRR

I put the file in Library/Keyboard Layouts and I tried putting it in Users/Library/Keyboard Layouts.

When I go to System Preferences - International - Input Menu, I can find the box for Colmak but it never works.  I've tried logging out and shutting down.  Colemak shows under "Script" as bring "Roman."  I don't know if that has anything to do with it or if it should say "Unicode."

I've tried clicking on "U.S," and then I tried clicking on "U.S. Extended,"  and then I tried having them both clicked.

I am working on 10.5.7.  I am beside myself here.  I don't know what else to do.  I have put in 6 hours just looking for a fix to this problem.  Can anyone help me please!??

    Thank you,

    Lisa

    ****UPDATE******

This is how I figured it out.  I hope this saves someone time in the future.

In the International window in System Preferences, make sure to have "Show input menu in menu bar" selected.  Go up to the top of your screen to the icon (for me, it looked like a U.S. flag).  Click on the drop down menu.  You should see "US" and "Colemak."  Just click on Colemak.

I love that I can easily switch back and forth.  I hope this was helpful to someone who was as frustrated as I was.

are you new ?   or was there some change in going from 10.4 to 10.5 ?

if you're new, sorry didn't see this sooner and save you six hours.  I don't think I see anything here that's different.  Guess I will find out when I upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard.  Right now 10.4.11 is still good enough.
