AltGr characters not working with Folder Menu 3

When Folder Menu 3 (a free, portable "folder switching tool" for Windows) is running on my computer, some of the multilingual layout's key combos don't work. For example, I get "e" instead of "ē", "ĕ", "è" (but "é" still works). I am running Windows XP. Does anybody else have this problem?

    Thanks.

Can you try this program: https://www.donationcoder.com/Forums/bb … ic=18189.0
to see what hotkeys are bound, once with that program running and once without?

It probably binds Ctrl+Alt+M (macron), Ctrl+Alt+H (hacek) and Cltr+Alt+R (grave) for other things, and conflicts with Colemak.  (On Windows Ctrl+Alt is equivalent to AltGr, which is really annoying...)

It is somewhat annoying, but if programmers would adhere to good practice and not bind hotkeys to Ctrl+Alt (just like we shouldn't bind key mappings to Ctrl or Ctrl+Shift for the most part!) this wouldn't be a problem. Of course, it is a bit of a problem that this is good practice in Windows and not in other OSs since coders and code tends to get ported.

Think of the AltGr key as a shortcut to the Ctrl+Alt shift state, which is reserved for key bindings and not hotkeys.

It must be something else—Folder Menu doesn't bind any Control-Alt combinations. According to the ActiveHotkeys program, Ctrl-Alt+M, H, R are not active, even when Folder Menu is running.

Are you using Portable Keyboard Layout or an installed one? If one, try the other option.
