I switched to Colemak from Dvorak a couple of months ago. My Dvorak speed was about 50 wpm and in a month with Colemak I could do 50 wpm too.

Naturally, I wanted to improve it, but I don't seem to make any further progress. If I try to speed it up, I begin making more mistakes and the speed actually goes down, because I need do delete/retype.  If I intentionally slow down, my accuracy gets good, but speed drops to an unacceptable level.

Can it be that I hit my limit and won't be able to improve it?

So, those of you who do 100+ wpm, did it come natural to you, or you had to fight for it?

    Thanks!

It's often easy to regain your former speed with another layout but hard to improve from that. Makes sense to me.

What I've found helps is to get flow. And you do need to focus on accuracy I think. Don't worry about a low speed but make sure you type accurately and evenly and then I think your speed will pick up over time.

Mostly, what I think works best is to type a lot.  :)

I had fun with some different typing games when I learnt Colemak. The best was Typing Of The Dead, hehe.
