As the title says, why move the s one key over? It just seems to slow learning. It's my second day using Colemak, and this is the most annoying change. I am doing about 15-20 wpm, but the s relocation has me very frustrated. Any reasons why?

My guess would be (as a layman), that there are many words that have 'ars' in them. Inward rolls are perceived to be easier to type. The word 'people' when typed on Dvorak has an outward roll - E and O in Qwerty D and S positions respectively. I can feel the awkwardness of that move.

I had the same frustration when I started. You'd be fine while you progress. I no longer have that issue while typing. You'd love typing once you are comfortable.
Hehe, almost every newbie has that question. As Shai has explained before many times (do a forum search and I think you'll find a couple), his earlier layout design (the ASETION) didn't move the S for the reasons you mention. However, that got him into serious digraph and same-finger trouble so in the end he caved in and moved the S after all. It makes sense in the large picture.
