The first few days are always the most difficult. It works out better if you manage to stick with Colemak, but it's not the end of the world if you revert once in a while to use QWERTY, it will just take longer to master the layout. You'll see it gets easier every day.
Yes, you really do!
;-)
Every time you don't use your Colemak, baby Jebus gets CTS and as a result of the wrist pain, cries. :D

Jebus ?
you must be using some other alternative layout to come up with that typo!
you've been outed. ;-)
actually I think it's the Virgin Mary cries every he doesn't use Colemak.
The baby Jesus just forgives him.
That's not a typo. Urban Dictionary: Jebus
D'oh!
On the more serious side, I switched back and forth and it really hurt my progression. It actually ended up temporarily hurting my QWERTY abilities, as well as my Colemak abilities because I would keep confusing them both.
Believe me though, this skill isn't something that fades, and you'll still have your QWERTY skills unharmed, and potentially better (mine got a little better). However, it is absolutely imperative that you keep the two separated for the time being.
Okay, cool, I managed to stay with colemak! :D
It did improve my skills...
Which ones?
My Colemak skills... duh! But now, after a week of holidays in italy, I forgot everything again!! Aaarrrrrrgghhhh
You probably just are frustrated
I stopped using it for about 5 months. 10 minutes later I was back to my previous typing speed.
how can you stop using it for 5 months, but then you typed again 10 minutes later?
Oh, I getcha! How come you stopped using it for so long though?
I don't know...
It was amazing!
There were a few keys that I didn't remember, yeah. It was amazing how fast I picked it back up though.
