I contacted TypeMatrix today to say I'm going to be buying one of their keyboards this month and really want access to a Colemak skin.

I know people have asked before about getting support (yay that they have it in the keyboard itself) and thought it would be cool to have a thread where each of us mentions the keyboard manufacturers we talk to, and update any correspondence.

Now to get MS to add Colemak as a layout in Windows :P

I recommand you buy one with total blank key from typematrix. they won't bother to tailor every minor different layout to every single user.

if you finally touchtype on any keyboard, it wont matter what is printed on the keys.

Have you looked at their skin selection? They already do tailor to several minor layouts.
They've also said in the past that with enough interest they will produce Colemak skins. Quoted right in this forum.

I'm buying a blank, but I want skins to go with it. Why I want it doesn't matter to you, so if you want to pooh-pooh ig go find another thread. Thanks.

I do think a blank board without skin is more secure way to use your computer. At least your colleage whom cannot touchtype will never be able to use your computer.  Well, where is the O on all the blank key caps? Is the computer software setting using qwerty, dvorak or colemak?

i just think a forum is place where people should be able to share their view openly. Anyway, I do recommand no skin to go with it. Why I want it doesn't matter to you, so if you want to pooh-pooh ig go find another thread. Thanks.

It's not a thread about whether or not X configuration meets your approval.

Your personal keyboard preference is completely irrelevant.

That you want a blank keyboard has zip to do with what companies people have talked to and the responses they have received.

Are you just here to troll?

    Good news from TypeMatrix!

"We have just found a new supplier of skins and will be working in the next weeks to get established with them and put in a new order for skins, of which, the Colemak layout will be one.  All this always takes much longer than we anticipate, but it is in the process, and it is our clear intention to make this a reality."

That's nice, Bitterbug! Hope Shai can stick a notice about this on the front page when it's confirmed.
