I've gotten a computer running Windows 7 and I'd like to find a way to remap backspace to the capslock position. I won't be using my old computer anymore.

I could use the portable version but last time I recall the accents wouldn't come up which I sometimes use. I don't use Linux but I'm willing to learn it. I'm fairly savvy so if you could explain a solution for Windows 7 I'd be so grateful.

I need multilingual accents, to be able to switch quickly back to qwerty, and have backspace back in the capslock position. As one of the best features of colemak, I sorely miss it. I wonder if there could be two installation files in the future for those of us who love it.

    Cheers.

I'm not sure if I fully understand what you mean but if you want the original CapsLock to act as a Backspace regardless of the active keyboard layout, the best way would be registry remapping. For this you could use a program called KeyTweak. It's free, you can just google it.

I'm not sure if the portable version of Colemak supports the multilingual accents, but the installation one does, so I see no point in switching to qwerty just for that. But anyway, the reg remapping works on system level so it doesn't matter what layout you're using.

Hope that helps. If I haven't understood you correctly, excuse me.
