Hi, i have proposed a new keyboard layout focusing on Colemak at the geekhack community.

i made some changes for the colemak layout:

Change the "/" key for the "'" key.

and rearrange the other keys in an ergonomic design, i need your comments in order to render a 3d model.

In reply to what you wrote about the TrulyErgonomic keyboard and Macs: it's incorrect. Check out the text next to the Finder icon here. The key in the middle will be Fn key on a Mac, which is hardly used, so no problem. I just wish it had more thumbs keys... :)

Also: One center column of keys works pretty well, you'll probably use your main hand for it, or the other hand if your main hand is mousing, which is very handy indeed. I've used a Typematrix for a little while, but have been using a Kinesis Ergo Contoured (3D) for a couple years. You'll find all about it in this forum if you're interested.

As for the perfect keyboard: the Kinesis Ergo Contoured is the best I've used so far (with my custom remapping of course), but I'm always open to new stuff. IMO any keyboard with staggered rows is not worth considering - I'm glad your proposed perfect keyboard has a grid layout as well. :)
Anyway, what people perceive as perfect is very subjective, so good luck.
