    Hi everyone,

I'm new to colemak forums, in fact I've never really been involved in any forum to be honest.
I've been typing QWERTY for maybe over ten years now however I never got used to the full conventional touch-type. Instead of using eight fingers for letters, I mainly use five. My left index, middle, and ring fingers takes care of letters QAZ-YHN (QWERTY), the left pinky will hold Lshift, Lcontrol when needed. My right index and middle fingers take care of UJM and everything to the right. On certain letter combos my right ring finger will be used. Surprisingly, I do on average 70 wpm with this but my fingers move way more then they should.

It was two days ago that I decided to learn conventional touch-typing and when researching for online for lessons I came across dvorak. I thought would be a good idea to learn a new layout while I'm at it. I practiced for a day, did more research and then saw colemak, it didn't take much to convince myself that colemak was going to be my new main layout.

So far, I've already started recognizing the main changes in colemak in comparison to qwerty (just by typing this post), and i've been working up until all the home keys ARST NIEO on sense-lang.org (lesson 4). I will try to get >97% success at ~15wpms before moving on to more keys.
Once I get used to accuracy on every key I will start practicing speed on hi-games.
Another tool I will use is music. I will type at a constant slow beat and raise tempo when needed.

I use windows 7 as operating system.

This post took me nearly an hour or more to type so I'm gonna end it here!

I will post updates as much as I can! (:

Good luck to you, the first three weeks are the hardest. Be consistent to go through this difficult time, and you will get used to it gradually.

You don't have to type such long texts, we are understanding that you can't type such long sentences at this time!
