    change caps lock to backspace
    change backspace to caps lock

change shift keys to the kind of shift thats on the iphone (you only have to press it once and its good for one shift). This will keep you from accidentally shifting two characters instead of one, and could allow you to only use left shift (saving you a stretch) in case you double shift like me, or are used to only using right shift. You can do this because you wouldn't have to hold it down.

Anyone like or dislike my idea?

By the way, i just made the switch to colemak so it took me about 30 minutes to type this :)

    Regarding 'shift':
To press and release the one of the SHIFT keys, and the next key you press will be shifted?

(ie: press SHIFT and release, press g/G 2 times produces "G" then "g")

    Is this what you mean?

An Evil Screaming Flying Door Monkey From Hell typing with Colemak saved my life!

Yes, it's been discussed around. If you're using Windows, have you tried Sticky keys? Sorry, I haven't got much experience with other OS's

Welcome to Colemak! I hope you have a pleasant journey.

I think most OSes should have some 'accessibility' option similar to Win StickyKeys. Just go ahead and use it then! :)

I'd not want to use that I think, but it's interesting to know that some of the world's fastest typists use it! At least, I think I remember Sean Wrona himself praising their use at high speeds.

I don't think Sean Wrona uses sticky keys.  He just uses caps lock for capitalisation.  Check out the thread on here, he gives an explanation for doing so.

It boggles the mind. But if it works for him then it has to be effective I guess!
