Every time I cut my nails, it feels like typing is that little bit harder.  Why would that be?  I don't really want long fingernails.

For me it's the other way around. I tried growing longer nails to see if I could play the guitar with them, but typing felt awful then. So I guess it's what you're used to maybe?

I try to keep my fingernails as short as possible. My fingers are less hurt that way.

I like having short nails, but it seems I am a better typist for having longer nails.  I've lost about 20wpm after a trim, and now everything feels so much harder.  I'm straining more.  I can feel it in my shouder.  Perhaps I should use some thimbles.

I too hate typing with anything but short nails. When I curve my fingers on the keys I don't like my nail touching the key.
