    Hi,

I am getting a new Keyboard (Planck with MX Blues) and I would like to put Control on the Caps Lock key, because I use Control very often. I got very used to Backspace on Caps Lock, though. I put Backspace on the Shift Location on my theoretical layout (http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/# … be35bdabb4). Although I am looking for a more optimal spot. Do you have some suggestions?

    Thanks, Kim

Interesting theoretical layout, but I don't know what "upper" and "lower" are for. Are they for switching between upper and lower case? If so it seems like a waste to me. If such a keyboard existed I would rather have all modifiers (Shift, Control, Alt and AltGr) on the bottom row, where they could be easily reached with thumbs. Then that would free up the key to the left of A to be backspace.
Mind you, whether on your theoretical keyboard or a real-life one, you should also consider having an Extend key, and then Backspace could be on your Extend layer.

    Using Colemak-DH with Seniply.

You can read more about it on https://www.massdrop.com/buy/planck-mec … boardUpper and lower are mods, which activate the functions which are written as top/bottom legends on the keys. So they are pretty much the most important buttons of the keyboard. They are only there, because the keyboard has so few keys. Just scroll down, where it says "The PCB".

I don't really know what you mean with an extended key, but you are talking about layers, so I think the upeer and lower keys are just that.

Oo, for that matrix layout I'd really recommend trying Steve's DH-mod! He modestly forgot to mention it. ;-)

Extend is something you can read about in my sig topics. It's our name for an extra shift layer with navigation, editing and multimedia ++.

That shift placement and the intention to strike it with your thumb is very interesting. Let us know how that goes, I might have to give it a try.
