    I see @dreymar has touched upon composing a broken bar.

    Did you stumble across a clear history on the character? (not sure if I totally follow the link within the link.)

    On the right hand rectangle, the result is way more pleasing as the vertical dashes are similar to the horizontal ones!  ( のvの) c[_]

    It'd work better in a proper terminal than on this forum, of course. There, the vertical dashes would form a proper line with nearly even gaps, as seen in the article.
