In case there are any other awesome users here, here is a modified rc.lua for awesome that will work with Colemak. Instead of using the default QWERTY hjkl for window movements, it uses QWERTY ijkl (Colemak unei), which is the same as Shai's vim configuration.
This config is for awesome 3.3. Don't expect it to work with older (or even newer) versions.
(This is not the same config that I use, but the keyboard commands are mostly the same.)

Some notes about mine:
- I am using urxvt, and each time it opens with a new tmux client.
- I have added Mod4+c and Mod4+Shift+c to cycle my windows forwards and backward, respectively.
- To kill a client, I use Mod4+Shift+k.
- I use Mod4+a to open up my mail client, alpine. It does not open in tmux because then the colors don't work well.
- I also hate the awesome menu, so it's disabled.
- I'm also using my own theme, creatively named "default" (because I'm lazy).
