    Shift Key Action in Colmak

    Hi,

I'm now a long time user of the Colmak layout (2.5 years). Won't go back to QWERTY.

However, on one machine I use regularly, I've installed the PKL.exe utility to enable Colmak to be turned on and off as needed for other users, but when turned on the Shift key when held down works for the first character typed (giving uppercase) but then loses its setting for 2nd and subsequent keys. This means that each CAPS character requires that the Shift key is released and repressed.

Anybody have a resolution for this issue?

    Thanks.

We just had a spambot attack so when I saw your username I thought you were a pharmakon-pushing menace!  :D

That's weird; haven't seen that one before - although I have seen some weird behavior that I couldn't quite explain. Are you using PKL 0.3? That's been around for a while now so I suppose you are, but if not you should upgrade I think.

Which layout file are you using? Is there a mention of Shift anywhere in the [layout] section (there shouldn't be)? Could you use the 'extend_Colemak' layout instead, and would that give the same result? (That one just rearranges your virtual keys instead of specifying which glyphs each key produces, so you'd have a rearranged 'normal' keyboard and no special AltGr stuff or dead keys - but maybe that's okay.)

Are you using any other AutoHotKey or AutoIt script (or applications compiled from them), or other VBSCRIPT-based apps?
