If anyone is familiar with this program...I'm having a heck of a time

I figured out how to make the keys into different letters but can't figure out how to make ctrl+letter correct...for example if I do ctrl+a in my custom layout, it comes out add ctrl+s (the original letter)...is this something to do with the key mapping?

    (Using Windows 8)

If I remember rightly, there are certain things you can't (easily) do in Microsoft keyboard layout editor, and I think this is one of them.
The solution is not so hard though. Open the KLC file in a text editor (it's a fairly simple text file), you'll need to edit the contents of one of the columns.

After that you should still be able to load it back in to generate the installer.

I had to do something similar for my KLC files :)

    AWESOME!!! Thanks!!

Do you happen to know if I can change a ` key into a DELETE
Also I was trying to make ] into a Backspace

not sure if it's possible...I think it's not happy to have two DELETE and two Backspace

It's possible, but you'll have to run MSKLC in debug mode, edit the c code files and then manually compile them.

Much, much simpler to do in PKL (but you may want a Windows installer which PKL can't help you with obviously).

Download my PKL package, read in the layout.ini and pkl.ini file, along with the readme. Ask if anything's unclear, and we'll both learn. :-)
