There are several types of typing tests used to improve and measure typing skills, and monkeytype is one of the most popular platforms offering them. Typing tests include speed tests that focus on how fast you type, accuracy tests that measure how many mistakes you make, and timed tests where you type within a fixed duration.

Some tests use random words, while others use full paragraphs or quotes to simulate real typing situations. Monkeytype also allows custom typing tests, punctuation practice, and numbers typing, helping users build speed, accuracy, and consistency in an easy and user-friendly way.

Is there a question here or is this just a boost for monkeytype?

I am not sure I would describe monkeytype as a typing test website, or a tutor.  It's somewhere you can practice and measure your speed for a blob of text.  It's not the easiest site to navigate to find alternative texts, and it defaults to popular words.  You initially have an artificial score.  Perhaps your question is, how many typing websites are out there that let you practice or measure speed through 'tests'?  Or some such.  To me the question of a typing test is a particular recipe/mix of characters/words that you have to type in a designated timeframe.  I'm even tripping myself up trying to describe what a test is.  You can test different aspects of someone's typing, like speed, accuracy, adaptability, rhythm etc.  And/or particular character combinations.  As for speed test websites they are ten a penny.  Some sites can even act as a typing tutor, can test and record progress and adapt lessons and text to suit the individual.  There are speed test sites that let you do competitive play.  And apps/tutors/sites that also bundle speed tests.
