After changing XkbLayout to colemak, I can't change to virtual consoles anymore. Pressing alt-ctrl-f[1-9] while X terminal is opened produces chars like "[[A", "[[b]", "[17~" and the like. Shai, would you possibly have any solution to that?

    What OS are you using?
Do you have the same problems with xmodmap?
Did you try using the left Alt key? (the right Alt key is mapped to AltGr)

I'm using Linux with xorg 7.

I've been solely using left alt + left ctrl combination (yet right ones don't work either).

It's the same with xmodmap (albeit those "[[A" chars don't appear). FYI, having experimented with different colemak's Xkb/xmodmap combinations, I've finally settled with both enabled (not sure if those were intended for exclusive use or not).

Maybe X Control Keys aren't set properly? I believe you have more experience with Xkb than I do (granted that you are the author of those rules).

I've uploaded a new version that is supposed to fix the issue.
Let me know if it works for you.

Actually, it seems to have made things even worse - alt-Fx combinations stopped working ;-)

I've uploaded a new version and updated the instructions on https://colemak.com/Unix for the XKB and xmodmap implementations.

After brief morning testing it seems that the Xkb solution works flawlessly, whereas using xmodmap prohibits me from using alt-Fx (e.g. can't close windows with alt-F4) as well as combinations with winkey, which I was using to control amarok.

Anyway, thanks for your support, Shai. For the good of all X users out there :-)
